Artico Santo Tomas was officially awarded the EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) Advanced certification by the Philippine Green Building Initiative (PGBI) on December 9, 2025. As the second level of the global EDGE standard, this achievement confirms that the facility has surpassed the 40% energy efficiency threshold. The official assessment report highlights the facility’s resource-efficient design, which is projected to deliver 52% savings in energy, 48% savings in water, and a 41% reduction in the embodied carbon of materials compared to local baselines. This milestone significantly lowers the facility’s carbon footprint and contributes directly to broader climate goals while ensuring long-term operational cost savings.
This certification strengthens Artico’s position as a trusted partner for environmentally conscious clients. Developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), EDGE is a green building certification that independently verifies resource efficiency and low-carbon operations, reflecting Artico’s commitment to sustainable cold storage solutions.
