SM City Sta. Mesa welcomed the Year of the Snake with a vibrant and culturally rich Chinese New Year celebration on January 28, 2025. The event, filled with traditional performances, cultural displays, and exciting activities, brought together the community to embrace the spirit of prosperity and good fortune.
The celebration kicked off with a warm welcome from Mall Manager Ms. Joy Arsenio, who highlighted the mall’s commitment to fostering a vibrant community spirit through engaging events. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte graced the occasion as the guest of honor, delivering an inspiring speech that emphasized the importance of unity and progress in the new year.
The highlight of the event was the captivating performances by the talented students of Chiang Kai Shek College. The celebration began with a meaningful Lion Eye Dotting Ceremony, followed by the energetic Lion Dance, which brought good luck and prosperity to the celebration. The audience was then mesmerized by the dynamic Wushu demonstrations and the graceful Chinese Traditional Dances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the performers.
The event was also attended by Chiang Kai Shek College Director for Developmental Studies Marilyn Tansiongkun, along with SM Supermalls executives AVP for Marketing Hanna Carinna Sy, AVP for Central B Mall Operations John Brian Tarnate, and AVP for Central B Mall Marketing Jay Arañas.
